It is, of course Betonica officinalis, a Stachys. Thanks A, thanks F. Having done some research about it on the internet, I realise it used to be a panacea, i. e good for many ailments, either taken as tea, under the form of tincture or macerated in wine. Sovereign against migraines. I do not have with me Pierre Lieutaghi ‘s book, LIVRE DES BONNES HERBES, my Bible in that field, but shall look it up for you next week. It is the first year that so many of them are flowering in the South meadow.Chemin faisant
